Monster Strike and Yu-Gi-Oh! are teaming up for an in-game collaboration, complete with a real-life recreation of anime’s most fabulous hair.
To advertise the team-up between the smartphone game and the card-battling franchise, Gintama film director Yuichi Fukuda has helmed a short commercial that brings Yami Yugi to the real world. Actor Kento Kaku (of Chihayafuru Part 3 and The Disastrous Life of Saiki K.) is so excited about the collaboration, he straight-up transforms into the legendary duelist in the middle of a store:
Jiro Sato (Takeichi Henpeita in the live-action Gintama) appears as the shop clerk cornered by Kaku. The two meet again for a 10-minute video that explains the collaboration—while giving Kaku more chances to crack Sato up.
The commercial will start airing on Japanese television starting February 15.
